Varalaxmi Sarathkumar To Romance Sudeep In Mirchi Remake

Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who started her acting career with Tamil movie Podaa Podi, is now all set to rock Kannada audience. She will foray into Sandalwood with the untitled Kannada remake of Telugu Blockbuster film Mirchi. The budding actress will romance superstar Kiccha Sudeep in the movie, which went on floors a week ago.

Sudeep is once again set to don the director's hat two years after the release of the movie Kempe Gowda. Talking to IANS, NM Kumar, who is producing the Kannada remake of Mirchi, confirmed casting the Tamil actress for the film. He said, "We have roped in Varalaxmi to play one of the heroines in the film. We are on the lookout for the rest of the cast. The regular shooting commences soon."

Directed by scriptwriter Koratala Siva, Mirchi featured Prabhas Varma, Richa Gangopadhyay and Anushka Shetty in the leads. The movie has collected Rs 50+ crore at the Box Office in its lifetime. Actor-producer John Abraham has already bought its remake rights for a Hindi film. Now, Sudeep is doing this film in Kannada. Since there are two female leads, it is yet to be known what role Varalaxmi will do.

Varalaxmi is the daughter of actor R Sarathkumar and Chaya, while actress Radhika is her stepmother. After Podaa Podi, she has done another movie named Madha Gaja Raja in which she shares the screen space with Vishal and Anjali. The actress who has completed the shooting for the film is now eagerly waiting for its release.
