Attarintiki Daredi Release Delayed Due To Seemandhra Agitation

Owing to the Samaikyandhra supporters' agitation in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan's highly-anticipated Telugu film Attarintiki Daredi, which was to release on August 9, has now been pushed to a further date. The film was to lock horns with Vijay's Thalaivaa and Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express at the Box Office, but now, Seemandhra agitation has forced its producers to delay the release of the movie.

In a statement to IANS, the spokesperson of the film Attarintiki Daredi said, "Due to the ongoing agitation over the Telangana issue, we have decided to postpone the film to a new date. We haven't zeroed in on the new release date yet. Once finalised, we will officially announce the release date."

One of the reasons the film is reported to be postponed is because members of Samaikyandhra, people's movement group, threatened to boycott the film if released on August 9. They were not happy with the way Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi dealt the process of formation of separate Telangana state, and hence warned that they shall stall the releases of Chiranjeevi's family members' films.

Pawan Kalyan, who is playing the lead in it, is the younger brother of Chiranjeevi. Attarintiki Daredi is directed by Trivikram and it also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Praneetha and Brahmanadam in important roles.
