Rajanikanth gets rare honour

Legendary actor Rajanikanth got a rare honour, ahead of the release of his prestigious movie Kochadaiyaan. He has been invited as chief guest for International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa between November 20th to 30th this year. IFFI organizers are eagerly waiting for the Rajani’s nod for the event. There is an allegation that IFFI event always moves around Bollywood and ignores Southern film industry which products highest number of movies in the country.

Last year, IFF faced criticism from all quarters by inviting Akshay Kumar as a chief guest for the mega event while ignoring top stars of Tollywood and Kollywood. This year, IFFI corrected its mistake and gave equal importance for both South and North film industry. “We are delighted to invite Rajnikanth as a chief guest for the opening ceremony. But he has not confirmed his presence. We are still awaiting for it,” Vishnu Surya Wagh, vice-chairperson at the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), said.
Rajani’s presence will sure to make all the guests happy as he commands respects from all. No need to explain his stardom again but the release of Kochadaiyaan in 15 languages including in Telugu as Vikramasimha indicated his fan following across the world. The movie will enthral audience in Japan and Malaysia also. The fans have also requested him attend for the IFF function which would help for the promotion of the movie which will be released in December. Rajani is now currently busy with the shooting and post production of the movie being directed by his daughter Soundary. Let us hope he would accept the request of IFFI and fans.
